About Us

Career
a chosen pursuit; a profession or vocation.
The course or pathway of one's working life

Do you have a career or is it just a job?  For now, let's agree to refer to your employment as "work", and later in the book you can decide if you have a career or a job.  Our reasoning here is not as crazy as you may think.  There are some career coaches, the professionals who help people to make the most of their working lives, that feel very strongly that what you label your employment is an indicator of how you feel about your work and how you approach your work.  In the current economy, most people would not be faulted for digging in and sticking with a job that might until very recently not held much interest for them, other than the fact that it allows them to eat three times a day, wear clothes, and live indoors.  Some employment consultants have said that we may look back at this economic cycle and ask wny more workers didn't take more calculated risks and change jobs voluntarily.  Afterall, regardless of how long the recovery takes and whether or not it is a jobless or job-ful recovery, in the future employers may look back at this moment as a time when motivated workers made changes and took a few risks.  With an unemployment rate that is now expected to exceed 10+ percent, you can be sure that when you're in an interview five years from now, that the person sitting across from you will still have a good recollection of today's job market.  Be smart and be bold about your career.

We think we’ve identified three critical factors that determine how successfully an individual will withstand the effects of a wealth hazard that they've encountered.  Many people will find this approach useful in their attempt to deal with these difficult times.  The three factors are how to Avoid, Manage, and Recover from the effects of a wealth hazard.
